Session 98 - Pterodactyl hold up

Cymbaril the elf thanked the group but accosted Chad and said axes were forbidden in the forest. The sprites taunted Mivian but ended up giving her a potion that healed her wings when she was about to leave. The party found a blood vine on the impostor’s body. 

Cymbaril said that attempts to use magic to help the Great Tree had failed and Malice could not pray to obtain a plant growth spell. Malice went ahead and prayed anyway and gave the spirit mango as a gift. The tree shuddered. Malice was granted the rune spell. Cymbaril was astounded and offered Malice the Empty Seat on the council of the Winter Woods. Malice declined saying she had other things to do. Cymbaril gave Malice a potion of polymorph and a small cage that heals creatures in it quicker to aid her in rescuing Valar.

The party found Brordrir the dwarf under the tree. He been cruelly abused by the elves in attempt to bring the Great Tree back to life. The party rescued Brordrir and flew him back to Xalter on a pterodactyl. A storm closed in and the pterodactyl sent back to the clearing to pick up Joe nearly didn’t make it back. 

You started heading north in the white out and stopped when the horse stepped on a skull hidden in the snow. You found more fresh skulls in the snow. Mivian heard footsteps and a spell being cast. An Aquilonian appeared out of the blizzard and said he was sent to rescue Decius Sunsword. He said he had difficulty getting past the crocodiles and asked for one of the pterodactyls. Malice refused…
