Session 60 - Thug life

 With the sudden lack of aerial support the decision was made to investigate the plague in the fishermen’s palisade. Dushi Sone popped up and said she would like a lift out of Xalter. She revealed that she’d been cursed by Cragspider, the queen of the trolls. She asked Mina to put in a good word for her. Mina was sceptical on account of Dushi nicking a powerful artifact from Cragspider and not returning it.

Mina and Chad started squabbling over how much money Chad would require to go into the plague area. 

While the squabble was going on Gina was approached by another hobbit, Thankmar Underhill, and he asked for help getting started in Xalter. On the way to the Stuck Pig Thankmar disappeared and Gina was accosted by 3 thugs. In a brutally stabby fight, Gina killed 2 of the thugs and the third ran away wounded. Hogwash heard the commotion and together they said they’d post a reward for information on the thugs. One of the bystanders, Alder, said that the thugs were some of Sam Orm’s old men in exchange for the reward. He gave the location of Rose Orm’s house but said that Arthur Orm hadn’t been seen since the death of his father.

The party decided to pay Rose Orm a visit. There was no response to a knock on the door but Hogwash discovered a tunnel leading to a nearby house. Ellyn and her 2 kids were inside the house. Sam discovered the entrance to the tunnel in a back room. Between Hogwash’s veiled threats and Gina’s slightly softer questioning, you discovered that Sam Orm and his men used to use the tunnel when they wanted goods and people to be moved unnoticed. Aerer her husband works in the Queen’s guards. Ellyn said that the tunnel hadn’t been used recently except for a very sickly looking Sam Orm coming out 4 days ago. She sensed something wrong and they kept out of his way. 

Chad and the hobbits ventured down the tunnel. Chad smashed the lock in on the door and surged through. To be savaged by a tentacled cat beast. Sam got a very lucky hit on the cat beast and it retreated to a corner of the room while some thugs reinforced the cat. The badly wounded Chad stood bravely in defence of the retreating hobbits till Mina healed his wounds. At which point he started battering the advancing thugs. The party surged in after him, dispatching the remaining thug.
