Session 128 - Slice and dice

Maevis prepared to cast a second sight spell. While that was going on Amersh and Mo examined the statue of Orlanth. Amersh gave an offering to Orlanth and by extreme good fortune the statue granted him the rune spell of guided teleportation.

Dan, Alice, Billy and Helmund went south into a deserted throne room. A slave with a broom at the far end of the room ran away. While Helmund and Alice examined the minotaur sized throne, Dan managed to pull the curtains behind the throne down upon himself. This revealed a secret door.

Billy headed back up north to rejoin Amersh and Mo. Dan lead the way through the secret door and opened another door which had boxes stacked up on the other side. He spied some gnolls ordering slaves around through the boxes. Dan navigated back around to where he thought the other side of the room was. He burst through the door only to find a different room. The slave with the broom was in an animated discussion with Grassus, a well dressed slave. They legged it through another door, calling for help from the gnolls.

The gargoyles piled in, attacking the gnolls. Dan followed attacking a spell casting gnoll. Dan’s attack didn’t hit but it was enough to make the gnoll’s spell fail. Under the onslaught the gnolls surrendered and the slaves tried to flee through the secret door.

To the north, the other party crept along the corridor until Billy knocked on a door and said hello. The was no response, the palace deserted. At the end of the corridor a light was shining down into a domed room. A Hivernian called Holoste was chained up in the path of the slowly moving light. Mo put a rabbit in the light and it caught fire and shrivelled up. Van Petrol freed the Hivernian and he gratefully healed Maevis but his spell failed on Mo.

Billy meanwhile heard sounds of minotaurs and people through a door back down the corridor. The party gathered outside the door. Amersh burst through the door into a kitchen and nearly killed both minotaurs in a stunning sequence of attacks. The minotaurs tried to run, upending tables and slaves, but Mo and Maevis finished them off. The kitchen was awash with minotaur blood and surprised slaves.
