Session 109 - Coming in hot

You decided not to enter the land of the dead and headed back to the pyramid see how the ritual was going on. A single Hivernian zombie tried to interrupt the proceedings but Joe chopped his legs off and Chad hammered the bat sword through its back. The ritual was cast impeccably and the entrance to the pyramid was sealed with a permanent immobility ward.

You then headed back down to the cold room and discovered a priest of Tezca, the lynx god, encased in a magical ice crystal. Graben swore to release the man as Tezca was an animal brother to Uishin. Chad and Mina hit the crystal with hammers to no effect. Then Mina cast detect magic and determined the crystal only vulnerable to magical fire or lava.

The party hatched a plan use a heat resistance spell and Graben to bring lava back to the ice crystal. Graben entered the lava chamber and experimented with the lava. As soon as his hands touched the surface, a giant fire salamander lurched from the flames towards him.
