Session 108 - Ritual exploration

The party discussed whether they should return the bat sword to the pyramid but decided Chad’s need was greater. Mivian and Malice started a ritual to seal the shaft, guarded by Gina. The rest of the party ventured south. They came across a priest of Valar and an old man carrying a dead body. The priest said they had come here because he had heard the magic was powerful and he was attempting to resurrect his master. The party was suspicious but ended up giving him advice and agreeing to find the clay statuettes of the Snow Bat. Gina snuck up on them as they crossed the pyramid cavern but let them pass peacefully in the end.

Chad, Mina, Joe, Graben and Thruz entered a cold room. They went into a sub room and found a 6 foot replica of the pyramid that they fought the crocodiles on. Moving into the next cavern, Joe was attacked by giant bats targeting his light. The party quickly dispatched the bats with Chad doing an obelisk run to kill the final one. Chad used the bat sword to decipher the obelisk which declared that this was the entrance to the tomb of Zapatazap.

Examine the mural at the back of the cave the party noticed that the life size door on the mural was made of a different material to the rest. Above the door was written “This is the Doorway to the Land of the Dead. May the Living Beware!” in the tongue of the Snow Bat. Chad hit the door with his hammer and went through a layer of plaster and hit stone.
