Session 133 - A view of the heart

You thoroughly searched the spell casting gnolls’ rooms. The gnolls were dining on gorgeous roast beef. You found a chest filled with gold and copper pieces. You investigated the north room and found a large pool of water with 4 bowls at its edge. Alice deciphered the magic runes on the bowls.

North Bowl: This bowl's writing describes the process for summoning a water elemental. The process requires filling the bowl with water from the pool and speaking the proper ritual.

East Bowl: The writing on this bowl describes a process by which the person casting the listed spell may cause the bowl to operate as a Locate Object spell.

South Bowl: This bowl will function as a special clairvoyance spell when properly magicked. It will reveal any desired location. It can be used 4 times with a single cast of the spell.

West Bowl: This bowl is the teleportation bowl. It specifies that for it to work, the south bowl must first be activated and a destination determined Then the east bowl must be brought into function and the locate object power brought to bear on the room depicted on the pool.

You filled the south bowl with water and viewed Isen’s half of the Heart of Valar. It was in a room surrounded by minotaurs and gnolls. The room also contained a platform and a winch mechanism. It could not focus on the other half of the Heart of Valar, nor Malice. When asked to show Barrett it showed the room you were standing in. You filled the east bowl with water and a needle appeared in it, pointing upwards and slightly south. 

Filling the north bowl, Alice summoned a huge water elemental. It didn’t respond to questions but it did respond to commands. It also consumed all the water in the pool. You filled the teleporter bowl up with ordinary water but it didn’t work. You noticed a small trickle of water refilling the pool. Alice was calculating how long it would take to refill the pool when a minotaur and 2 gnolls walked into the room.

A quick fight ensued with Amersh chopping off the minotaur’s hand. They all ran for it with Mo and Dan finishing off the running gnolls with thrown halberds. When Maggot shouted for everybody to return the minotaur reappeared with 6 more gnolls. Three of them peppered Dan with arrows.
