Session 5 - Charming Cece

Cece the emaciated priestess of Valar stepped out of a room over the dead snake Nguakkunaj. Cece started to cast a spell at Steve D for his killing of the snake but Navarron charmed her. More villagers piled out of side rooms. Navarron tried to convince them that the dead adventurers killed the snake and they were trying to protect it but the villagers accused him of killing the snake. Johnny the Axe stepped forward to try and protect Navarron but was killed by a spear thrust. 

Steve D and Navarron retreated. Thorto was ready with his bow as the cultists rounded the corner and killed 2 villagers in quick succession. The rest were shaken and fled when Dusty, out of sight, let out a scream like some awful monster.

The adventurers questioned the charmed Cece about the dungeon. She said that people who displeased Explicata were sometimes fed to the Nguakkunaj the snake and Bafar the lizard. She said that Explicata sometimes appeared in the temple on the lower level. Cece lead the party across a lake with eyes in it, through a lizardman guard post, and down into a lower level. Cece came to a door and said the temple was beyond it but she couldn’t remember much beyond that. Steve D tried to summon some food to feed the emaciated Cece but only succeeded in angering Valar. 

While the food was being not summoned Dusty and Thorto found a room deep with water and decided not to venture into it. Christoph and Navarron went the other way and found a room completely filled with mud. Christoph thrust his spear into the mud to test its depth and something moved within the mud towards him.
