Session 4 - Snake eyes

A few more ex slaves washed up on the beach. Christoph, Trough, Heinrich, Argathrax the dwarf, Yak and Tewk. An attempt was made by Argathrax and Steve D on the bridge upstream. The current proved too strong and the walls too slippery to gain decent purchase.

Christoph decided use the handholds at the side of the river to make his way downstream past the waterfall. He found a beach with an entrance leading deeper into the underworld carved in the shape of a fanged snake. The rest of the party followed down past the waterfall. 

Christoph made his way through the snake entrance and down the flight of stairs. He found four villagers of Frostwyck acting as guardsmen. The leader Aelhulf tried to convince Christoph to come and meet the mistress Explicata. Something wasn’t right about Aelhulf. Christoph high tailed it upstairs and came back down with the party who knocked out and tied up the guardsmen. 

The party headed onwards but Heinrich caught some movement out of the corner of his eye. A giant snake was stalking him at the edge of the torchlight. Most of the party headed back to confront the snake. A savage fight ensued with Heinrich succumbing to the snake’s bite. 

Christoph, Yak and Thorto headed forwards into a room with a pool of mud in the centre. Yak called out a challenge to the mistress that was met by the appearance of a giant lizard. The 3 adventurers retreated. 

The rest of the party drove back the snake with Trough, Steve D and Tewk driving hard on its tail. The snake, realising it had no chance to escape turned to fight again and bit Trough fatally. Steve D ran his spear through the snake’s head and finally killed it.
