Session 117 - Caliadne’s oak

Leaving Silenia you headed north to the Stone Circle of Cawic. Amidst the ruins of last night’s battle you took the faint north east path and came across a blackened lightning struck oak guarded by 2 grey skinned centaurs. 

The centaurs tried to persuade you to leave and one of them backed away and appeared to be whispering in a terrified fashion to the tree. Maevis requested an audience with the tree and had a conversation with 2 glowing eyes deep within a hole in the oak. The eyes cast a detect thoughts on Maevis and painfully rifled through her head before vanishing. You learned from the centaurs that the eyes in the tree were that of the Witch King of the Unseelie Court. And that the tree was Caliadne the dryad’s tree. One of the centaurs thought that the Witch King was pleased with Maevis and would be unhappy to learn that Caliadne had been consorting with gods and demons.

Maggot persuaded the centaurs to head to Silenus’ castle to see if anything could be done for their partially undead state. Then you set about Caliadne’s tree. The tree failed to make the forest come alive and Alice hit it with some mighty force axes. The warriors failed to get purchase on the tree and were taking a battering from its branches until Dan stepped in to finish off the job. You burned the tree. 

You left and headed up the northwest path following the sled tracks into the forest. The path stopped at a fairy gate. Alice used the magic dust and you stepped through into the Ruins of Kupchak...
